Olympic Riders: Phillip Dutton
Phillip Dutton was born in 1963 in Nyngan, New South Wales, Australia. In 1991 he moved to the United States to train, and has been competing internationally ever since. Today Dutton is one of eventing's most revered and internationally recognized riders.
While living in the United States, Dutton competed in three Olympics and four World Championships for his native Australia, winning team gold in both the'96 and 2000 Olympic Games. In 2006, Dutton officially became a U.S. citizen and changed his competitive nationality as well. In 2007, Dutton won his first international medal, team gold, as a U.S. citizen. The '08 Olympic Games in Beijing will be his first under the American flag. |
